Hi, I'm Steph!

Firstly, welcome.

I'm so pleased you're here and considering becoming part of the Lightheaded Academy community. If you're going to invest your time, trust and money into learning with someone, I believe you deserve to know exactly who they are and what they stand for.

For me, education has never been about simply teaching people how to create beautiful nails. It's about building confident professionals who understand why they do what they do, work safely, and leave feeling genuinely proud of the standards they achieve.

That's exactly what Lightheaded Academy was built to do.

Over 15 Years of Industry Experience

For more than 15 years, I've dedicated my career to the beauty industry.

Throughout that time I've worn many hats—salon owner, nail technician, educator, assessor, Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), mentor and lifelong learner. Every role has shaped the way I teach today.

I've worked with hundreds of learners, supported students through regulated qualifications, assessed practical competence, quality assured training programmes and spent thousands of hours working with real clients in the salon.

The experience I've gained isn't just from textbooks.

It's from years of solving real problems, refining techniques, understanding different learning styles and continuously improving both my own skills and the education I deliver.

Creativity Has Always Been Part of Me

Long before I became an educator, I was simply someone who loved creating.

As a child I was always making something—drawing, cross stitch, jewellery, arts and crafts... if I could create it with my hands, I wanted to learn it.

That passion eventually led me to study 3D Design before completing a BA (Hons) degree in Makeup and Prosthetics at the London College of Fashion.

From there my career expanded into hair, beauty, nails, education and business—allowing me to build a broad understanding of the industry rather than specialising in just one area.

Looking back, every step has contributed to the educator I am today.

Qualifications That Support Real Expertise

I'm incredibly passionate about continual professional development and genuinely believe that the best educators never stop learning.

Over the years I've gained qualifications across multiple disciplines, including:

Nail Technology
Hair and Beauty Therapy
Wig Making and
Hair Extensions
Makeup and
Prosthetics (BA Hons)
Education and Training
Assessing Vocational Achievement
Internal Quality Assurance (IQA)
Salon
Management

Every qualification has added another layer of knowledge that allows me to support learners more effectively and deliver education that reflects real industry practice.

Why My Learners Learn Differently

One thing that makes Lightheaded Academy different is that I don't just teach nails.

I teach people.

Working as an educator and Internal Quality Assurer has given me a deep understanding of how people actually learn, why learners struggle, and what helps knowledge truly stick.

That's why every course has been carefully designed to feel structured, supportive and engaging—not overwhelming.

You'll understand the science behind the nail, develop practical skills with confidence, receive meaningful feedback and build professional standards that stay with you long after you've completed the course.

My goal isn't simply for you to pass.

My goal is for you to become the nail professional that clients trust and other technicians admire.

Quality Will Always Come Before Quantity

You'll never find rushed training or shortcuts here.

Everything inside Lightheaded Academy has been built with intention.

Every lesson, assessment, workbook and practical task has been carefully planned using the same quality assurance principles expected within professional education.

That means you'll learn:

• Safe working practices

• Correct anatomy and nail science

• Professional application techniques

• Client consultation and aftercare

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting

• Business confidence

• Industry standards expected by insurers and employers

Because great technicians aren't created by copying trends.

They're created through understanding.

My Promise To Every Learner

I created Lightheaded Academy because I wanted to raise the standard of nail education.

To create courses that I would have loved to learn from.

Courses that are modern, professional, beautifully designed and genuinely enjoyable to work through.

Education should leave you feeling empowered—not confused.

Confident—not intimidated.

Inspired—not overwhelmed.

If that's the type of learning experience you're looking for, I'd love to welcome you into the academy.

I can't wait to be part of your journey.
